New Moon Set Drama and Tensions: Fact or Fiction? Fighting, jealousy and ugly rumors on the set of NEW MOON. And apparently, the drama is not in the script. I'm Dana Ward with the deets on the Twilight sequel. A tornado of gossip about behind-the-scenes on NEW MOON reveals that things are just not as they seem. In the original movie, all of the players were happy and getting along, some even rumored to be dating in real-life. Of course, Robert Pattinson got labeled as the breakout star, the perfect boyfriend and the new celeb hottie. But now, the talk is that the vampire actor's star is about to shine itself out. I have to remind you that it is reports - NOT CLEVVER TV - that are saying Robert is feeling down about his heartthrob role from Twilight being taken over by Taylor Lautner's werewolf persona in New Moon. We all know that Kristen Stewart and Lautner have a lot more one-on-one, intimate scenes in the film follow-up and it's reportedly making Pattinson jealous - plus, the fact that Taylor beefed up with about 30-pounds of muscles doesn't help Robert's case either. And to make matters worse, the movie crew is apparently talking negatively about Pattinson's hygiene - saying he's got BO - and they're saying his pickup lines are just plain bad. And do we have to even mention that Robert has, in passing, said he's not the most sporty of types and that the entire new cast of NEW MOON is full of athletic hotties. So here we are - asking you guys - what's up with these ...

Do Romantic Comedies Really Do Well at the Box Office?

Every year around the holidays, we are faced with a new slew of romantic comedies addressing holiday themes. But do these films really do as well in the box office as other genres of film? If not, why do they keep getting produced as steadily as films of other genres?

I recently looked at the list of the top 100 highest grossing movies of all time. On the list only a meager two films on the list were romantic comedies. Namely, Meet the Fockers, and Pretty Woman. So only 2% of the top grossing films of all time were romantic? Seems rather dismal. I suppose, two other films loosely could be called romantic comedies: Ghost and Mamma Mia. However in my opinion Ghost qualifies more as a supernatural romantic film than a romantic comedy. Mamma Mia qualifies more as a musical.

So why does the box office year after year turn over whole new slate of romantic comedies when only two romantic comedies have been considered massive box office successes? How does any filmmaker get funding for a film, if its pretty much guaranteed to make less money than other films of other genres. In my opinion, the main reason that romantic comedies keep getting made is that romantic comedies are cheaper to produce than other genres. Therefore, it is easier and perhaps quicker to turn a profit on these films.

The genres that are the hugest box offices successes are also, no surprise, much more expensive. We have our massive budget blockbuster, record-breaking successes like Titanic and Lord of the Rings (loaded to the gills with special and visual fx, action, stars, and elaborate sets and costumes. Then we have our intensive animation category ie Lion King, Shrek and Cars, also very expensive to create(sometimes taking massive animation teams years and years to produce.)

Additionally, the Hollywood industry wants to make sure seats are filled once the film is released to theatres. Producing romantic comedies, or yes let's just go ahead and say it, why don't we, "Chick Flicks," are a very safe bet. Women, year after year, are guaranteed to drag men into the theatres to watch romantic comedies.

Before you go ahead and view me as being sexist in this viewpoint, I just want to point out that I am a woman. And I am a woman who doesn't really enjoy romantic comedies very much. Yet I too have to profess I have, on quite a few occasions, dragged a man, kicking and screaming even, to see a "Chick Flick." Sometimes the occasion is just perfect for a romantic comedy and no other film will suffice. For example, romantic comedies are an enticing pick for dates and romantic occasions such as valentines' day. You can bet (and Hollywood can bet too) that every single weekend there are countless couples on dates. Countless couples settle on the relatively safe bet of seeing a romantic comedy.

Romantic comedies do not fare so well at the box office when you look at the top grossing films of all time; however, it is easy to understand why they are churned out year after year. When adjusted for how much romantic comedies cost to make vs. how much they gross, I am certain the statistics would be much different. These films cost nowhere near as much to make as action films, animated films or fx-driven films and they have a steady and reliable built-in audience. Hollywood always enjoys a safe bet, and "chick flicks" are no doubt safe. There is always some newly dating couple out to see a movie, looking to choose something innocuous, yet romantic.

The Dual Life of Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus

There are many people who live a dual life. Think of the office worker by day who is a guitarist in a band at night, or the quiet accountant who turns in to a Hells Angel biker at the weekend.

There are perhaps even more people who would love to live a dual life and wish they could be a glamorous super star with thousands of screaming fans.

Hannah Montana, played by Miley Cyrus, is one of these people who gets to experience a normal life as Miley and then becomes a superstar and lives the glamorous life as Hannah. It's the dream of many a person to have the benefits of this dual life.

Of course, the is the crux of the story. How Miley juggled her normal life and her life as Hannah Montana. In fact, it results in many a hilarious situation as she tries to avoid people in either life finding out about her other life.

The comedy continues when some of Miley's closest friends also adopt dual lives and as well as being her friends as Miley, are also the friends of her superstar alter ego.

This juggling of the lives are particularly amusing, especially when you see Miley dating someone who wants to take her to a Hannah Montana concert. Admittedly you do sit there and think the people in the show are dumb not to work out her secret identity, but it is very amusing watching the show and how she avoids her secret being found out.

I do think that many of us would love to life a life like Miley Stewart in this show. Being a superstar would be fun, but not being able to do anything without bodyguards or press photographers everywhere would soon get tiring. Being able to take your wig off and live a normal life must be something many of the rich and famous wish they could do.

Like every teenage girl, Miley has her fair share of issues that she needs to resolve in both her lives. Having her father (played by real life dad Billy Ray Cyrus) there to guide her is really beneficial to her. He provides some useful advice which many of the viewers would also find useful to them.

All in all, the dual life of Hannah and Miley is one that many a teenage girl wishes they could live. Miley has become a role model for many of today's children and this show is one that is moralistic and clean, which is great. Being amusing and appealing to many different age groups, this is a show that parents can enjoy with their children.

Why Desperate Housewives + Sex in the City = Edutainment TV Today

I considered softening that title with a question mark, but in my mind it's not much of a question. First, let's establish just what I mean by edutainment.

Edutainment leisure programs that educate as well entertain.

Let's take a brief look at why I've singled out these two programs. I turned on the TV a couple of days ago and saw a promo for another channel that will bringing Sex in the City beyond the realm of HBO. I paused to think about how many women I'd heard use a character on the show as some frame of reference. The show has taken on viral proportions in syndication and that made me wonder if a similar fate awaited the newly touted Desperate Housewives.

Remember that book that was born from that now infamous catch phrase, "...just not into you" that has become a part of the American lexicon? Isn't that evidence that the show is teaching whether the people involved in creating it want it to or not. Sure some could argue the value of that particular lesson, but why doesn't anyone ask this one...

What kind of person doesn't know this as they're fast approaching 40 years of age?

I mean, how many years of dating, being dumped, sleeping around, and generally degrading yourself does it take to get that? I was trying to school my friends on that kind of stuff when I was 14 years old (and I have the letters to prove it).

I think there's a huge problem if a television show, rather than your life is educating you about how not to be a fool. The scores of women who reportedly wrote into the show inspiring the writing of the book mentioned previously are proof of the point I'm making here.

What you do is either taking you closer to or further away from what you really desire.

The problem, as I see it, is with the miseducation that occurs even more frequently as women look to these kind of shows to understand themselves or their lives. Prompted by a client who swore by the show, I did watch the final episode. Who thought that having the man you love finally presenting you with his real first name was indicative of a happy ending?

Now Desperate Housewives offers married, and often middle aged women, the same buffet served on a different table. The meal still stinks. Perhaps the designer fashions and parade of "beautiful people" are supposed to distract from the ugliness of the stories?

Why are there so many wedding magazines, television shows, books and websites while at the same time it's considered passe to end a movie with a wedding? How did this notion of right person for now morph into the notion marriage?

In my conversations with women I am surprised by how many religously watch week after week until the characters become the friends that understand their deepest and darkest secrets or inspire them to make secret fantasies reality.

Am I the only one struck by the lack of depth of this kind of characterization of women's lives? Why are so many people relating to these lost to themselves, materialistic, shallow people that television art has breathed life into?

Better yet, if you're one of those people, do you aspire to fill yourselves on a rehashed meal that someone has scooped off the floor or does that variety of edutainment inspire you to be more...to be better, not just on the surface but in the quality of person that you are inside. Or perhaps you just want validation that you're not as messed up as you fear?

The life you move through each day is the result of what's going inside, whether you admit it or not. Even if your secrets are well kept, you know what they are, you live every day fearing everyone else will know too. That is a point that goes right to the heart of what real self esteem is based on or why it is severely lacking.

So much emphasis is placed on how things appear that I fear no one cares anymore about what a thing, or a person, actually IS. What I see in magazines, commercials, and TV shows doesn't resemble anything I'd classify as beautiful...It is mostly empty and pushing the same old misogynistic images of women that mainstream media has always hyped (with few exceptions).

As a woman I know we tend to define ourselves by our closest relationships. But what happens when you avoid facing your true motivations for creating the life/relationships you have?

I guess if there's any value, besides to the advertisers for whom the show was really created, it'd be that it could prompt viewer (loyal or otherwise) to ask themselves this question.....

What unmet needs are being denied that drive someone to become their own worst enemy?

And more importantly---

What's it going to take to change that?

Romantic Comedies That Make Men Laugh

Most of the men I know take their wives or girlfriends to see the newest romantic comedy with less than enthusiastic hearts. I wanted to share this little bit of advise to the men and women out there who love movies, but maybe not the same genre of movie. There are romantic comedies out there that most assuredly amuse both men and women.

The films are written and/or directed by two women; Nora Ephron and Nancy Meyers. If a new comedy has either of these names connected to it, we are off to the theater. As more mature adults (gray-heads), we don't venture to the theater for many movies these days because we generally leave the theater with a bad case of culture shock.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and it's a day when we want to do something particularly romantic for one another. There are a ton of romantic ideas floating out there, but if your life is filled with busyness, just sitting down and watching a movie can be a real treat.

Here is a short list of Nora Ephron films:

Julie & Julia (2009)

Meryl Streep & Amy Adams: the parallel lives of Julie (a New York blogger who cooked every recipe in Julia Child's cookbook in 2002) and Julia (masterfully played by Meryl Street) whose life in France with husband Paul and the Cordon Blue Cooking School are chronicled. Lots of great laughs.

You've Got Mail (1998)

Meg Ryan & Tom Hanks: this is a remake of an old Jimmy Stewart film called, "The Shop Around the Corner" that was released around 1936. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are emailing one another after meeting in a chat room even though they are both book sellers (Tom Hanks puts Meg out of business) they don't know the identity of one another for quite some time in this story line. Delightfully funny and romantic.

Sleepless in Seattle (1993)

Meg Ryan & Tom Hanks: Do you believe in destiny? How can two people who live on either side of the country be romantically connected even though they have never met? If you believe it was destiny who shoved you together with your mate, then you'll love the monumental hurdles these two overcame to get together.

When Harry Met Sally (1989)

Meg Ryan & Billy Crystal: This lovable little romantic film is chuck-full of barbed quips between two people who meet in college and run into one another every five years until they become good friends. Can a man and woman remain good friends after having sex? That is the threaded discussion played out in this film.

Meryl Streep & Alec Baldwin: My husband I have been to the theater twice to see this one; it's absolutely hilarious. Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin have been divorced for 10 years, but get back together at their son's college graduation. Even though Alec Baldwin is married to a much younger woman, he longs for the family he left behind. However, there is plenty of hilarious conflict to keep any man awake and laughing to the end. Do they stay together? This one is a MUST see!

The Holiday (2006)

Cameron Diaz & Jude Law; Kate Winslet & Jack Black: The trailers for this film didn't interest us, so we waited for it to come out on DVD before seeing it. Kate Winslet has been dealt a blow by her foolish boyfriend in England as has Cameron Diaz in L.A. Through the magic of the Internet, they swap houses for the Christmas to New Year holiday and find love when they weren't looking for it. The plot may be simplistic, but the masterful editing keeps your interest to the end. Do they maintain their long-distance relationships after the New Year? Delightful.

Diane Keaton & Jack Nicholson: Jack Nicholson is playing himself in this film (based on everything I've read about his reputation). He is a philandering bachelor who is fast-approaching later life. He ends up at Diane Keaton's beach house because he is dating her daughter (Amanda Peet). He suffers a heart attack while there and Diane Keaton is left in charge of his recovery. They fall in love (much to their suprise), but Jack has some huge commitment issues to overcome before making it all work out. Another belly laugh for all!

What Women Want (2000)

Mel Gibson & Helen Hunt: Mel Gibson is an ad exec who has to market women's products but is too macho to know how to pull it off. Through a bathroom accident, he is given the ability to hear the thoughts of women. It's cute and funny. The actors pull it off with comedy that keeps your watching to the end.

So check your DVD collection for these and more by Nora Ephron and Nancy Meyers. These films never grow old because they are extraordinarily written and directed.

Bachna Ae Haseeno - Ranbir Kapoor And Deepika Padukone

As the title suggests, Ranbir Kapoor would be a flirt daddy in this movie. Wondering how would they picturize the title song. Much like his father, Rishi Kapoor's bachna Ae haseeno song, this should be foot tapping, Or do you think its going to be the same song but remixed? Don't know yet but I'll know that soon.

It's said to be based on the the Jimmie Shannon starer 'The Bachelor' released in 1999. If you haven't seen the movie, here's the plot for you.

I can't share the spoils with you for Bachna Ae Haseeno but seems like an interesting story line for a Bollywood masala movie. I am a staunch Yash Raj Fan and haven't missed a single movie that has come out under that banner. Moreover, it stars, Ranbir Kapoor yaar!! So I'd be sure to watch this one. How about you??

The Streaming TV Video Treasures of YouTube

YouTube, the British TV files.

The vast database called YouTube is an absolute treasure trove of entertaining videos, shows and movies. As with any mixed bag, however, the person searching for treats (in our case the viewer) needs to know what they want and how to find it. Yes, all you need to do is enter a name for the show or clip you want to find and, if you get the correct keyword, chances are you will probably come up with a clip related to what you're looking for. But what if you are, for example, interested in a genre of film, sports, opera, TV, or even jazz or classical music that you don't know any of the names for? You're just getting started in that genre.

This happened to me not long ago. I had seen several episodes of British TV shows as a youngster, growing up in Toronto. A couple of years ago I started to realize that many of the shows that I had seen as a kid might now be available in some form on the internet. Sure enough, after a little bit of research, I was surprised to find a treasure trove of content on the internet related to my new area of interest.

Speaking of available on the internet, one of the interesting things I learned is that Google the search engine has affiliate archives in countries around the world. That is, if you do a search through Google UK (to get there, simply type Google UK in your search Box) you will find search results which are quite different from those available through just plain Google. The UK branch offers a wider range of results related to England than you will find through the Google site.

First of all, I found there is a wide variety of on-line written material reviewing old British TV shows. Guides to actors, lists of dramas and sitcoms from the UK, the list is long and varied. Britain, of course is the home of Shakespeare and so, the Brits take their performance very seriously. My first area of interest was TV Sitcoms. Here is a site where you will find plenty of information about situation comedies made in Britain: Top British Sitcoms. From this list, I was able to search YouTube and view dozens of great comedies dating back as far as the 1950's. As I watched the shows, I was able to reflect on the eras in which they were produced (generally set in the 1950's through 70's). The verbal content, the jokes and even the acting is reminiscent of the times. The parts in the shows tend to be extremely well acted and the shows reflect a humbler and simpler attitude towards things than is often portrayed nowadays.

Here are some of my favourites: Keeping Up Appearances: In this show, suburban snob Hyacinth Bucket devotes her time to putting on candlelight suppers and trying her futile best to impress everyone she can get her hands on. Only Fools and Horses: This was a great surprise to me since I had never heard of it. It turns out this story of two brother market traders is the most popular British Sitcom. On the Buses: A sixties series based on the lives of two bachelor bus drivers and their activities on the job, driving double-decker buses. Fawlty Towers stars John Cleese of Monty Python fame. In this series, he plays the role of a crotchety innkeeper. The episodes are timeless. There are dozens of sitcom reviews available at the Top British Sitcoms site above. To view samples of these, simply copy the name of the show into YouTube UK (oh yes, YouTube also has an affiliate archive in the UK as well as other countries) and see what you come up with. To get onto YouTube UK, simply type it into Google.

As for British drama series, again the same principles for searching for content apply. Checking out Google UK, I found reviews and listings of dozens of drama series. The British Film Institute has reviews of many of the shows produced there. The mentioned link has a ranking of twenty of the top drama series produced in the UK since TV began there. Again, many episodes or at least clips of these shows can be found in the archives of YouTube or YouTube UK. Of course, this is just a sampling of the many drama series produced in the UK.

In both the genres of comedy and drama, I have shown you how to get started watching great TV episodes from the UK on-line through YouTube. The material you will find is often timeless and always entertaining. In some cases you can watch streaming episodes directly. In others, you may only find clips of shows available. I hope this guide will help you find a new place to watch classic TV and, the best part is, most of it is free.

Who's Who in Bollywood - Actors

Despite the fact that Bollywood exceeds Hollywood in film output, Bollywood has a much smaller star system, which means Indian actors appear in far more films than their American counterparts-some doing as many as five movies a year. Luckily, that makes it easier for new fans to figure out who's who. Nepotism is common in Bollywood and many actors and filmmakers come from family dynasties that have been in the movie business for generations-however, there are many celebrities with the same common surnames, particularly Khan and Kapoor, who are not related. The following, while by no means comprehensive, is a rundown of the biggest and brightest male stars in the Bollywood universe.

Shahrukh Khan

Known as King Khan, the Badshah of Bollywood, or simply, SRK, Shahrukh is one of the "big three Khans"-along with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan-who have dominated Bollywood for two decades, although Shahrukh has arguably surpassed the other two in terms of commercial power and global recognition, and unlike the other two, Shahrukh does not come from an established film family. He made his debut in 1992 in Deewana and catapulted to superstardom in 1995 with Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, or DDLJ as it's know, which is still showing in theaters in Mumbai, making it the longest running movie in history. His character in DDLJ, Raj, became the archetype for the modern romantic Bollywood hero-brash, hip, and Westernized, but Indian at heart. His top hits include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006). Despite his age (he was born in 1965), he revealed a surprisingly ripped physique in Om Shanti Om (2007), which became the highest-grossing Hindi film of all-time, proving that he was far from being eclipsed by younger aspirants to his throne (while poking fun at Bollywood's standards of male beauty). In 2008, Newsweek magazine named him one of the 50 most powerful people in the world. He's married to his childhood sweetheart, Gauri, with whom he has a son and a daughter.

Amitabh Bachchan

If Shahrukh Khan is king, then Amitabh is god. His 1975 film, Sholay, the first "Curry Western" (the Indian version of the Spaghetti Western), is one of the most beloved Bollywood films ever. That same year, he appeared in Deewaar, a groundbreaking film that established him as the "angry young man," a character type that reflected the frustration and disillusionment of the times. Amitabh went on to excel in drama, action, romance, and comedy, making him the quintessential "masala" actor. After he was nearly killed in 1982 from an injury sustained during a fight scene, he made unsuccessful forays into politics and business and then struggled for years to make a comeback in film-but comeback he did. In 2000, he became the host of India's version of the TV show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and film success-some commercial, some critical-followed, including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Sarkar (2005), Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006), Baabul (2006), and Eklavya (2007). He's married to actress Jaya Bhaduri and their son is actor Abhishek Bachchan, who's married to actress Aishwarya Rai.

Aamir Khan

Aamir is considered the "serious" actor of the big Khans and widely regarded as the most talented Indian star in terms of sheer acting ability. While he's been in plenty of commercial hits, he's always had an artistic bent, and his projects are usually of the highest quality. He started his career as a child actor in 1973, made his first film as an adult in 1984, and after several nominations, won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1996 for his turn in Raja Hindustani-in which he famously kissed his co-star Karisma Kapoor (kissing was a rare enough occurrence then to cause quite a stir). He received international attention for his role in Lagaan (2001), which was the first film he produced. The movie was critically praised around the world and received an Academy Award nod for Best Foreign Film. (It was only the third time in history that an Indian film has been nominated, and no Indian film has ever won the award.) Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005) and Rang De Basanti (2006) are also among his best pictures. He debuted as a director in 2007 with Taare Zameen Par. His 2008 film Ghajini became the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. In 2002, he divorced his wife of 15 years, with whom he has two children, and in 2005, he married an assistant director. He does not attend film award ceremonies.

Salman Khan

With bedroom eyes, bulging biceps, and a velvety voice that would make any woman swoon, Salman is the ultimate heartthrob-and his bad-boy reputation only adds to his sex appeal. He's been in trouble with the law, several fatwas have been issued against him, and his romantic relationships-with ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai and current girlfriend Katrina Kaif (who's 20 years his junior)-have been filled with tumult. His combativeness with the press doesn't help his image and neither do the well-publicized blow-ups he's had with colleagues. But he's also known for his generous philanthropic work. He got started in film in 1988 and appeared in his first smash-hit, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, a year later-and he's been churning them out ever since, including Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), No Entry (2005), and Partner (2007). He's had plenty of flops, too-including an English-language Hollywood production, Marigold (2007), opposite American actress Ali Larter (who currently stars in the U.S. TV show Heroes).

Akshay Kumar

Part action hero with martial-arts skills, part comedian with a knack for farce, part handsome leading man who can dance-like a cross between Bruce Willis, Jackie Chan, Jerry Lewis, and John Travolta-Akshay is simultaneously a tough guy and a goofball-and he always gets the girl. While he's enormously popular in India for his everyman qualities, he's an acquired taste for most Americans. His first film came out in 1991 and he hit it big a year later in Khiladi. He's appeared in nearly 80 movies since then, with a decent track record, but only recently has he been challenging the three Khans for supremacy at the box office. The year 2007 belonged to Akshay with four hits-Namastey London, Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Welcome. In 2008, his film Tashan failed to do well, but Singh is Kinng (which included a cameo by American rapper Snoop Dogg on the title track) had a record opening. In 2009, his film Chandni Chowk to China became the first Bollywood movie released in the U.S. by a major American studio (Warner Brothers), but it flopped in both India and North America. Later that year, he starred in the successful Kambakkht Ishq, playing an Indian stuntman in Hollywood, and the film featured cameos by Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards. He has a son with his wife, Twinkle, a former actress.

Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik's 2000 film debut as the romantic lead in Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai made him an instant star-and his dreamy green eyes and buff bod made him an enduring sex symbol. He's the son of director Rakesh Roshan, who's directed Hrithik in some of his most important projects. (Rakesh was famously shot at close range outside his office in 2000 after being threatened by the mob, which has a long history of extorting Bollywood actors and filmmakers, and he survived the murder attempt.) Hrithik received accolades for his turns in Mission Kashmir later that year and in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham the following year. After three flops in 2002, he made a comback in 2003 with the sci-fi film Koi...Mil Gaya. He took a break from acting and returned in 2006 as a super hero in Krrish, the sequel to Koi...Mil Gaya. His next two big films were the hit action flick Dhoom 2 (2006) and the award-winning historical drama Jodhaa Akbar (2008), both opposite Aishwarya Rai (with whom he shared a passionate and controversial kissing scene in Dhoom 2). He and his wife Suzanne have two sons.

Abhishek Bachchan

While he's the son of screen icon Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek has struggled to prove himself as an actor. And even though he's tall, dark, and oh-so handsome, he nonetheless catches flak for not being as muscle-bound as his peers. He appeared as the lead in his first film, Refugee, in 2000, opposite Kareena Kapoor in her debut, and then spent the next four years making a dozen abysmal movies. Finally, in 2004, he was critically praised for his performance as a thug in Yuva, and that year he also starred in his first commercial hit, Dhoom. In 2005, he had four hits with Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar, Dus, and Bluffmaster and two more in 2006 with Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Dhoom 2. The following year, he received accolades for his performance in Guru, opposite his then-fiance Aishwarya Rai. He's had a spotty record since with winners such as Dostana (2008) and losers such as Drona (2008). Abhishek's mother is actress Jaya Bhaduri and his grandfather is famous Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Abhishek became engaged to actress Karisma Kapoor in 2002, but they broke it off in 2003. He married superstar Aishwarya Rai in 2007.

Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay, or Sanju Baba as he's known, is a man's man, a John Wayne-type who oozes testosterone-but there's also an endearing vulnerability in his eyes. Primarily an action hero, he has more than 120 films to his name, going back to his debut in 1981. But his troubled personal life has garnered as much attention as his acting career. He's struggled with drug addiction, his mother and his first wife died of cancer, his second marriage ended in divorce, and worst of all, he spent nearly 15 years in and out of jail, fighting criminal charges that he illegally possessed weapons purchased from gangsters who were involved in the 1993 terrorist bombings of Mumbai. He was cleared of the worst of the charges, sentenced for lesser ones, and is now free. He continues to crank out films, including action flicks that place great physical demands on his 50-something body. He's currently married to his third wife. His adult daughter lives in the U.S.

Shahid Kapoor

Shahid's brooding characters have made him the Heathcliff of Bollywood. From Chup Chup Ke (2006) to Jab We Met (2007) to Kaminey (2009), he's perfected the melancholic hero who finds redemption in love. He made his debut in 2003 in Ishq Vishk, which earned him a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. But several so-so films later, including Shikhar (2005) and 36 China Town (2006), Shahid still hadn't lived up to his full potential. He started to come into his own in Vivah-his first hit-in 2006, and he finally blossomed in the blockbuster Jab We Met in 2007. Then he took his acting to a whole new level in 2009 in the edgy drama Kaminey, playing a double role in which he shed his trademark boyishness and transformed into two rugged, world-weary men. Following the amicable end of his three-year relationship with Kareena Kapoor in 2007, he has been linked to actresses Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra and tennis star Sania Mirza.

Saif Ali Khan

The son of a nawab (an Indian prince), Saif is the heir apparent to the royal houses of Bhopal and Pataudi (princely states in India). His father and grandfather were captains of India's national cricket team. And with his devastating looks and solid acting chops, Saif has become prominent in his own right. However, his career was slow to take off. He debuted in 1992 and had some early successes, but he mostly floundered throughout the 90s. He started to gain traction in supporting roles in Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003). His 2005 film Salaam Namaste with Preity Zinta was a huge hit, and he won accolades for his work in Parineeta (2005), Omkara (2006), and Eklavya (2007). He started his own production company in 2009 and its first film, Love Aaj Kal, in which Saif starred opposite Deepika Padukone, was a major hit. At the age of 21, he married a woman 12 years his senior. The couple had two children and divorced in 2004 after 13 years of marriage. He is currently involved with actress Kareena Kapoor. Saif's mother, a former actress, is head of the Indian film censorship board. His two sisters, Saba Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan, are also actors.

John Abraham

A model-turned-actor who's equal parts sexy and sweet, John has long been regarded as Bollywood's favorite eye candy-a position he seemed to cement in Dostana (2008), in which he famously emerged from the ocean Ursula Andress-style-a shimmering Adonis in tight swim trunks. But John surprised everyone a few months later with his astonishingly strong performance in the terrorist-thriller New York (2009), which proved he could take on serious roles and look good doing it. He made his debut in 2003 in Jism (which means "Body" in Hindi), opposite screen siren Bipasha Basu, and the two became a couple off-screen. They've been together ever since (despite rumors that they both have strayed), making them the hottest couple in Bollywood-or anywhere for that matter.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir is the grandson of the granddaddy of Indian film, actor Raj Kapoor. And he's the son of actor Rishi Kapoor and the cousin of actress Kareena Kapoor. He made his debut in 2007 in Saawariya, opposite newcomer Sonam Kapoor (no relation). The film featured a racy scene in which he danced in nothing but a towel. His next film was the romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), which means "Beware, O beautiful ones." Beware, indeed, because this babe with a mischievous smile is already setting hearts on fire as he scorches his way to the top. He is currently dating his Bachna Ae Hasseno co-star, Deepika Padukone.

Vivek Oberoi

The son of actor Suresh Oberoi, Vivek made a promising debut in 2002 in the edgy gangster film Company, established himself as a matinee idol that same year in the romantic drama Saathiya, started dating one of the biggest stars in the business, Aishwarya Rai, and then proceeded to blow his momentum with a string of poorly chosen projects and a growing reputation for being difficult. But perhaps the move most detrimental to his career was his decision in 2003 to call a press conference and announce on live television that he was being harassed and threatened by Aishwarya's ex, Salman Khan. The stunt received enormous media attention and many industry insiders were angry that Vivek had aired dirty laundry about one of their own in public. He and Aishwarya broke up in 2005. He was praised for his performances in the multistarrers Yuva (2004) and Omkara (2006), but it wasn't until 2007 that he had a modest comeback as the lead in Shootout at Lokhandwala, in which he delivered an explosive performance playing real-life gangster Maya Dolas. His next big film, Mission Istaanbul (2008), was a critical and commercial failure. But don't count Vivek out yet-he's an immensely talented actor with offbeat appeal and he has some interesting projects on deck.

Ajay Devgan

The son of a stunt and action choreographer, Ajay naturally focused on the action genre ater he got into acting in 1991. But he branched out into comedy and romance, and later, serious dramatic roles. In 1998, he starred opposite his future wife, Kajol, in Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, a remake of the Hollywood hit, French Kiss. One of his notable critical and commercial successes was Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. He gave astounding performances as the smoldering lead characters in the gangster drama Company (2002) and in Omkara (2006), an adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello. He married Kajol in 1999 and they had a daughter in 2003. He starred opposite his wife in his directorial debut, U, Me Aur Hum, in 2008. An intensely private man, he's known to stay out of the limelight.

Anil Kapoor

Most Americans first got to know him as the sleezy game-show host in Slumdog Millionaire (and now as a new character on the U.S. TV show 24), but Anil has been in show business for decades (he debuted in 1979). He was arguably the biggest star in Bollywood in the late 80s and early 90s, and he has a long list of hits and awards to his name. Of late, he's been appearing mostly in multistarrers (with mixed success), including No Entry (2005) with Salman Khan and Lara Dutta, Welcome (2007) with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, Tashan (2008) with Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, and Kareena Kapoor, and Race (2008) with Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, and Katrina Kaif. Anil's oldest daughter is actress Sonam Kapoor. His two younger children study in the U.S.

married to hot Jessica Simpson and the next thing I knew, we were filing for divorce. The
last time I broke up with a girl, I felt like sticking my head in the porcelain god and
vomiting my guts out, until I was dry heaving! Maybe Nick should have been a little more
proactive(pun intended).

It is a real pleasure to be watching TV on Saturdays and see hot Jessica Simpson
promoting Proactive skin care. She is well endowed like a Sunday nun on a Friday night.
I am sure Nick Lachey misses those nights holding her next to the roaring fire place,
with glimmering golden lion statues. What really happened to Nick and hot Jessica Simpson?

During his Vh1 Behind The Torment interview, he revealed how they drifted apart like a piece
of old wood floating downstream, in the backwoods of Kentucky. They just were not going in
the same direction anymore. He did admit, her popularity affected the relationship and I
thought he was handling it very well, until I saw his interview on Vh1. I, myself, had to hold
back the tears.

Hot Jessica Simpson was getting all the attention and Nick was just hanging in the
background. I noticed that happening more and more on TV with Nick. She would be on the
red carpet and the paparazzi would be taking pictures of her, like she was the tabloids' dream
girl of the year! Nick looked like he couldn't wait to hit the martinis once inside her current
movie premiere. Granted, in The Dukes of Hazzard movie she did look stunning in her Daisy
Dukes. Nick did not get the positive paparazzi action she did and if I was a fly on the wall,
I bet I would hear them argue about it until two a.m.

Nick Lachey was almost in tears on Vh1 Behind The Torment and you could just see the
hurt in this young man's soul. Hot Jessica Simpson basically ripped Nick's heart out,
cooked it on a grill with some chili spices and served it back in his mouth on a dirty
ashtray. I really felt for Nick when the tears were welling up in his little eyes. It looked
like Dane Cook stole an ice cream cone from him and said, "ha ha sucker, I am not just
the employee of the month, I am her new boyfriend!"

Remember the song, "hold on loosely" by the group 38 special. The song talks about
giving the proper space in a relationship. Did Nick hold on too tightly and then lose control
by letting his heart get in the way? It is not like Nick does not have the pick of the litter
now, but there will always be a deep Michael Myers(Halloween) knife gashing into his heart,
because of hot Jessica Simpson. On a good note, Nick is bouncing back by singing about his
"SAW 3 Terror Experience" with Jessica. I think he should sing a song about tuna fish and
how it canned his relationship with Jessica. Nick Lachey's music career is sky rocketing and
he can thank it all to his "Hostel Torment Experience" with hot Jessica Simpson. Who says
you can not learn something from Vh1 Behind The Torment! Way to go Nick!

Hot Jessica Simpson said in the March issue of Elle magazine, "it stung when ex-husband Nick
Lachey jumped back into dating after the breakup." Her words were, "Oh, it hurt me." I did
not see the tears in her eyes, but I did see the sparkling magical work of the Proactive Solution

Clay Aiken's song sound more like an obsessed stalker, then a love song? Listen to the song
